In a press interaction at the Swami Vivekananda Airport, Sachin Pilot, Congress leader and former Rajasthan deputy chief minister, expressed his assessment of the Bharatiya Janata Party's performance in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Pilot stated, "Someone has said, 'south se saaf, north se half'. It means the BJP will get half of the seats it currently has in the north while it will fail to open its account in the south and east. It will shrink." This prediction comes amid the BJP's acknowledgment of being "on the backfoot" after the first phase of voting.
Highlighting the significance of the ongoing elections, Pilot emphasized the positive voter turnout in Bastar despite various challenges. He expressed confidence in the Congress's electoral prospects, particularly in Chhattisgarh, where Priyanka Gandhi is scheduled to address rallies in Rajnandgaon and Kanker Lok Sabha constituencies. Pilot also conveyed optimism regarding Rajasthan, stating, "After assessing the BJP's performance in the last ten years, people have realized that they need a better option, which is the Congress and opposition's INDIA bloc."
